The SIRIUS 3RW40 is the siemens soft starter that stands out among the standard soft starters! With its innovative control technology, it is currently not only the world’s only two-phase soft starter in the power range from 5.5 kW (at 400 V) to 250 kW (at 400 V), but also the smallest solution thanks to its particularly compact design. Thus, it facilitates a clear and tidy layout on the electrical panel in less space and is therefore more than a two-phase control add-on to our SIRIUS range of soft starters.

Siemens 3RW40 soft starter features
SIRIUS 3RW40 has a new patented control technique: "Polarity Balancing". This technique avoids DC components in soft starters that control two phases. In soft starters that control two phases, the current resulting from the superposition of two controlled phases is passed to the uncontrolled phase. Therefore, from a physical point of view, the current of the three phases is not symmetrically distributed when the motor starts. This cannot be modified, but in most applications it is critical. In addition to this asymmetry, when semiconductors are controlled in two of the controlled phases, DC components may appear.
At starting voltages below 50%, this can cause considerable noise in the motor. Polarity Balancing" eliminates DC components during start-up. This generates uniform starting characteristics with respect to speed, torque and current rise. In this case, the acoustic quality of the start-up is almost identical to that of a start-up device controlling all three phases.

SIRIUS 3RW52 general performance soft starters are the ideal solution for standard applications. They have an ideal three-phase motor control, covering the operating range from 5.5 kW to 560 kW (at 400 V). Optional HMI modules, plug-in communication modules (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus) and motor protection with analog output or thermal resistor ensure maximum flexibility. With their hybrid switching technology, SIRIUS 3RW52 soft starters offer efficient switching for long-term energy-saving use.
Thanks to three-phase control, especially suitable for high motor outputs and delta circuits. The innovative Soft Torque function ensures that the motor starts smoothly. Sirius 3RW55 Soft-Starter - High Performance Siemens
Equipped with maximum functionality, SIRIUS 3RW55 high-performance soft starters safely handle even difficult start and stop operations. Thanks to the innovative torque control, the device can be used for drives with a power of between 5.5 kW and 1200 kW (at 400 V).
